Reflection

Today’s Gospel is a reminder that God often works through small beginnings. We tend to look for dramatic signs, immediate results, and visible success. Yet Jesus points to a tiny mustard seed and a small amount of yeast. The Kingdom grows not through spectacle but through faithful perseverance.

As clinical professionals, parents, investors, or disciple, it is easy to become discouraged when progress seems slow. A patient’s recovery may take more time than expected. A child’s growth may seem gradual. Financial goals may require years of disciplined effort and patience. Spiritual growth can feel almost invisible. Yet Christ teaches that what is planted in faith does not remain small forever.

The mustard seed becomes a large bush. The yeast leavens the whole batch of dough. In the same way, daily prayer, acts of charity, fidelity in work, and obedience to God may appear insignificant today, but God uses them to transform lives over time.

A good question for prayer today is:

What small seed is God asking me to nurture faithfully, trusting Him with the growth?

May God help us to trust His hidden work in our lives. Give us the patience when we cannot see immediate results, and the faith to keep planting seeds of goodness, love, and holiness.

Amen.
