Duty called today, so I couldn’t make it to daily Mass. Still, I found time to read and reflect on the day’s Scriptures.
The first reading from (Genesis 27:1–5, 15–29) tells the story of Isaac in his old age, preparing to bless his son Esau. But through a twist of deception, manipulation, Jacob receives the blessing instead. It’s a reminder that God’s plans often unfold in ways we may not expect or fully understand. Even amid human weakness, God’s providence prevails.
The Responsorial Psalm echoes this beautifully:
“Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;
Sing praise to his name, for it is gracious.” (Psalm 135:3)
And in the Gospel reading, when asked why His disciples do not fast like others, Jesus reminds us that His ways are not bound by human expectation:
“Why do we and the Pharisees fast much, but your disciples do not fast?” (Matthew 9:14)
God’s timing, His choices, and His ways are above ours. Sometimes, obedience simply looks like trust—even when things don’t make sense.
Wishing you peace and light today.
