I was walking through the park when I noticed two young people getting stoned. It was a scene I’ve witnessed too many times, and each time it leaves me unsettled. I can’t stress enough the harm that drugs bring, not just to health, but to focus, ambition, and life itself.
For me, staying alert isn’t a choice; it’s a necessity. I’m always conscious of the fact that I’m a foreigner in this country. Yes, I can vote, which means I’m not an “ordinary” foreigner, but that doesn’t change the reality, I must remain sober, vigilant, and aware at all times. I can’t afford to drop my guard.
That vigilance is the reason I named my YouTube channel Mr. Critical Eye. I see the world sharply, perhaps more sharply than most, because I’ve learned that attention can be the difference between safety and danger, success and failure. Watching young people chase one high after another is deeply troubling. Drugs don’t just cloud the mind, they cloud the future.
To every young person reading this: please, don’t start. Drugs will not make you stronger, freer, or happier. They will damage you, in ways you may not see until it’s too late. Trust me, I'm a clinician and I know what I'm talking about. Don't do it.
Blessings to you all
-Pal Ronnie-
