I kept thinking about today's homily at church and the command that sounds simple… but lives like a big challenge as always:
“Trust in God.”
Not in the government.
Not in the president.
Not in our jobs or our bosses.
Not even in ourselves.
But in God.
That’s where the tension is. Because everything around us trains us to trust systems we can see, paychecks, titles, policies, structures, approval.
Yet all of them can shift overnight.
And still, the invitation remains unchanged:
Trust in God.
Not as a passive idea, but as a daily decision, especially when uncertainty is loud, when outcomes are unclear, and when control slips through our hands.
That kind of trust is not easy.
It is not automatic.
It is not comfortable.
But it is steadying.
Because everything else can fail…
but God does not.
And that is the challenge we live with. Learn to trust fully in God.
