U.S. Government Shutdown!

It is interesting to see the U.S. government on the dysfunctional side, thus shutdown. Come on, this is the United States for goodness sake, whatever be the case it will always  be able to meet its challenges but when too much tag-of-war creeps in everything takes a different turn. Anyway, this so call shutdown came after "Obama-care" as it is popularly known kicked in on October 1st. This is the healthcare that seeks to provide health insurance for the over 40 million people in the country without any form of health insurance whatsoever. Anyway, the Obama care is what we have in the books as; the Affordable Care Act.

Congress (especially the republicans), disagreed on the funding of this healthcare bill because of the cost and other ripple effects they believe it could have on the economy and employment. They could be right but they point knowing that their majority stance in the house of representatives to them the republicans can always easily secure them opposition to whatever is introduced to the flow against their agenda. But don't forget, at the Senate level the democrats are also the majority. And to have anything to pass, you have to have the consent and support of both houses to pass and and following such epic disagreement is what result in the congress failure to always have anything done. People complain how ineffective congress is and how they could never get anything done, this is the issues. Either houses can't be overridden unless a veto from the president which is a right given to him by the constitution. 

But the same constitution also gave the two houses the power to drag their feet back and forth on issues of grave discontent. 

This is a clear picture to understanding more about the constitution and the various powers it gave to the congress, the executive being the president and the judiciary or the nine justices of the supreme court.

It is interesting but as I write this, the drama continues. No one is ready to settle for compromise so that the government to keep operating. Meanwhile the so called Debt Ceiling deadline is approaching which many say would be Armageddon. God bless.
