No quick fix dude!!

I was at a meeting yesterday and all we spoke about was gun-control. In the end, we couldn't come out with any single solution to approach that chronic national issue. I guess that is why men in power sometimes turn their backs to issues of this sort. No quick fix!!
You might doubt this, but I can certainly guarantee you that if this was the days of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, and all those  sophisticated ancient Greek thinkers; yet they would not have been able to come out with that fabulous or magical idea to what to do to brings all 300 million guns out there under control.
I know all of you my readers have amazing minds and if you ever get to think of anything that can be of help, please feel free to email me your ideas and they will be welcomed and appreciated.
Have a wonderful Tuesday morning and stay blessed.

Somewhere in New Jersey

Rene Midouin and I@NJ
It is almost a week now since myself and this brother from another mother and father to my right in the picture, I hope you got what I mean. Well, you better do pal; were at New Jersey in a suburb called Hawthorne to celebrate the joy of seeing a matrimonial bond, hoping to be life long established between one of our closest pal and her sweetheart.
It was an amazing occasion and I just love going to such places and occasions but it does come with a lot of responsibilities, be it physical, emotional, and or psychological.
Anyway, we had a great time there and as I was there, I met this older man who thought I was the most fascinating person around. He upon hearing I was from Ghana, said he was thrilled and told me stories upon stories of people he met from my country. Well, I'm yet to call him as he gave me his contact number and said "call me if you need anything". Looks like I always carry myself and my beloved country well enough with me wherever I go.
Life is great when we walk and leave behind us good footprints. Of course, our lives ain't meant to be lived to impress others but to probably impress ourselves or just to make us feel good about who we are. But hey!!, if we focus too much on ourselves, it would make us blind about the good of others and that is where ego centrism sets in.
Be a blessing to somebody, and if possible to the very least and disadvantage among us. I am not naive about the fact that we all have some good in us, all of us but sometimes it just gets harder for us to manifest it to others.

Stay blessed and have a wonderful weekend.

''Grayer Obama takes the oath for second term"

I took this picture on the day President Barack Obama was inaugurated to his second term in office. The headline was what attracted me the most followed by the oath administered by Chief Justice John Robert of the US Supreme Court. There was a petition going on in town that there wouldn't let Mr. Robert administer oath to Mr. Obama for his second term. Of course that was a joke to say the least. Four years ago and today is indeed are the same and different and it is alright to see the president grayer than he was at the time of his first term in office. To be the CEO of an Empire like America is not a child play. I am not just a mere sympathizer of the president but I try to look at things from a very Socratic lens. He has what it takes and also knew what he was getting into.  Therefore, everybody across the globe and not just the American people wants to see him do the best he can to bring the current global issues (finance, global warming, diseases, wars etc), all under control. It is his last term and there is nothing like re-election. So he can choose to be dormant and lead behind but that would apparently damage his achievements and legacy. And maybe Michelle, his wife can always run for a political office as high as the presidency, though she doesn't somewhat like politics. But having been in the White House and center of global politics might have changed her opinions about politics. Regardless, it is also about time for America to have a woman president and that is not far from happening. After all, Harvard University, the oldest and most prestigious academic institution in America is now headed by a woman, thus Ms. Drew Gilpin Faust.
Anyway, I wish the president good luck just like I did to my own John President Mahama of Ghana. They got a lot to deal with. For Ghana, she must act to ensure that its economy takes a better shape for the good people of Ghana. It’s all possible if more planning and mismanagement is curbed.
Have a wonderful weekend pals. Much love to you all and keep in touch.

Are we to blame for our shortfalls?

I love to read articles whose headlines comes in a form of questions. As far as the above is concerned, I think yes we are totally responsible and ought to blame for our shortfall. The only time we cannot be held responsible for our setbacks is when we are children and defenseless with our source of protection being parents and guardians. But many of us in our adulthood still look forward blaming our woes on others. That is never the going to help us. The earlier we learn to bear burdens and pay prices for our own folly and mistake the better. I would never blame my failures in this life one anybody, not even my parents who brought me to the world.
So yes we are to blame and nobody else ,…….
By the way, the mood is set, what a short time that was. Ohio was the best thing that happened to me these few days and I thank God for this.
Have a wonderful evening.

I'm a traveler for the time being

I love the fun of traveling. Just the past few days, I had the privilege to see Buffalo New York, Cleveland and Columbus of Ohio.
In just two days I will be in Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania before I get back to New York. It is always nice to travel and see other places different from where we have each been born and bred.
Have a wonderful one and I'll keep you posted in case anything fun and special comes up.
