I hope everyone is doing well in Ronnie’s World. It has been
a while since I last touched base with you all. I know most of you are familiar
with my schedule and how things just keep me running round like the proverbial
headless chicken.
Please keep me in your prayers. The race is coming to a
close and I can tell you it is not easy at all. But with God on our side, the
battle has already been won.
As you all know it is an election year and most of you have already
asked me about my opinion in living in the States and how it will affect me.
Well, I can tell you from the stand point of someone who cannot vote because of
my immigration status that, this is an election year like never before in the
over two hundred years history of the American Democracy. Two completely
different individuals with opposing political philosophies and as we all know,
the Republican front runner is a successful NYC businessman with no political
background. It is not surprising how everyday there is always something reported about the
utterances of the candidate. No diplomacy, no sanitization, and no filtration of
words and that in itself, has made him more believe it or not popular than Mr. Obama back in 2008
before he became the POTUS.
On the other hand, if elected, Mrs. Clinton will be the
first female president of the U.S. But right from day one her campaign has been
marred with what has been reported as corruption, hiding and concealing the
truth about serious national security threats she exposed the country to while
she was at the State Department as the SOS. All of that including using a
private email server at her Chappaqua home in NY has been haunting her since.
It has also made many Americans question how much they can trust her with
the nation should she be elected president.
Regardless of what you and I might think, there are still
die hard supporters from both sides. You can read a lot everywhere online and
know that these two front-runner candidates so controversial that everyone
on the streets of America is voicing their doubts and confusion of who to vote
for. I would perhaps be in the same shoe if I could vote. But whoever emerges
as the POTUS, either Mr. Trump or Mrs. Clinton will be highly unpopular in the
history of this Democracy. We are approximately eleven days from this election
and both candidates will be using every weapon at their disposal to fight.
Needless to say it will be a tough fight.
As for me and other immigrants here, we are staying put and
hoping for the best considering the rhetorics here and there of how many reforms will
be coming to town early next year. I can’t vote but I can pray and that is what
I have been doing and will continue to do for you all and America. Remember this election
is not just for Americans but the entire world’s. Trust me!
I will definitely keep you posted hereon where things are
headed.
Stay bless and safe.
Pal Ron.
