I took this picture on the day President Barack Obama was inaugurated
to his second term in office. The headline was what attracted me the most
followed by the oath administered by Chief Justice John Robert of the US Supreme
Court. There was a petition going on in town that there wouldn't let Mr. Robert
administer oath to Mr. Obama for his second term. Of course that was a joke to
say the least. Four years ago and today is indeed are the same and different
and it is alright to see the president grayer than he was at the time of his
first term in office. To be the CEO of an Empire like America is not a child
play. I am not just a mere sympathizer of the president but I try to look at
things from a very Socratic lens. He has what it takes and also knew what he
was getting into. Therefore, everybody
across the globe and not just the American people wants to see him do the best
he can to bring the current global issues (finance, global warming, diseases,
wars etc), all under control. It is his last term and there is nothing like
re-election. So he can choose to be dormant and lead behind but that would
apparently damage his achievements and legacy. And maybe Michelle, his wife can
always run for a political office as high as the presidency, though she doesn't somewhat like politics. But having been in the White House and center of global
politics might have changed her opinions about politics. Regardless, it is also
about time for America to have a woman president and that is not far from
happening. After all, Harvard University, the oldest and most prestigious academic
institution in America is now headed by a woman, thus Ms. Drew Gilpin Faust.
Anyway, I wish the president good luck just like I did to my
own John President Mahama of Ghana. They got a lot to deal with. For Ghana, she
must act to ensure that its economy takes a better shape for the good people of
Ghana. It’s all possible if more planning and mismanagement is curbed.
Have a wonderful weekend pals. Much love to you all and keep in touch.
