ENCOURAGE SOMEBODY TODAY

Have you ever thought of the impact you could have on the life of somebody if you say simple words of encouragement to them? It’s amazing and very obvious to know.
Our mouths and so therefore our tongue are powerful tools and are capable of bring people to greater heights and on the other hand can bring them down from greater heights.
We are in a world where everything seems to revolve around us and were egocentrism is the driving force. Sometimes, we tend to forget where we are, and that it’s not everybody who could have the opportunity to be there. Sometimes, we also forget how lucky we are, and fail to do those acknowledgments.
Some people are able to be where they are in life because of the good up bringing that they get at home. The hard work and encouragements that their parents gave them, whilst others also get theirs through the influence of their pals and mentors. Either way it’s the power of encouragement that brought them to where they are.
Tell people, "yes they can"

Many a times, we see people trying so hard because they never had the opportunity to be influenced by anybody, not even their parents. This could be either they lost either parent or bother, or they are divorced family. But because of their self motivation and how they view their world, they try to strive to greater heights. Such people, all they need to make it in life is, to hear a word of encouragement from somebody in a form; “you are such a determined young man/ woman and I bet you will make” such words are powerful enough to bring the fire out of them to rich their self potential. But as humans as we are, sometimes, we fail to look beyond the efforts of people, but make judgment based upon our human eyes.
Atypical examples of discouragement stories two friends shared with me, which I think are strong to also be shared with you my readers.
My friend one day told me that; growing up as a child, she was a little slow in learning and hardly could you hear her speak in class. But she used to work hard to at least pass her test among others. So one day, his Dad went to the school to visit her and after which he went to see her class teacher. And in the course of their conversation, her father accordingly asked the teacher, “how is my girl doing in class?” and according to the father, the teacher responded him saying “your girl is fine, but she is not going to be a college material”. This accordingly hurts her father beyond any reasonable doubt. But the father didn’t say a word, but told the teacher, he is confident his girl will pick up. The father went home and never said a word to his daughter about what he heard from her class teacher.
But all her father does was from time to time, motivate her and say good words of encouragement and inspirations to her. And gradually the girls worked her way to college, and after she received her first master’s degree in psychology, the father dropped the bomb. And she was surprised. The father never gave up on her and she made it at last. And shortly after her first master’s, she went in for yet another master’s degree and, now a full time assistant professor in one of the prestigious colleges in America. She often uses this she said; to motivate her students and will never cease telling them her story.
We will never know the destiny of others not even ours and if we cannot encourage them to work for their destiny, then we dare not say something that will break them down.
The other one was also a nurse friend. For her, her teacher one day told her face to face that; “you are so damn and stupid and cannot be a nurse. This happened after the teacher asked the class what everybody will like to be in future. It’s one the many things teacher do with their students very often, and even when I was in grade school my teacher did asked us the same. And I remembered very well I said MD, Medical Doctor.
Anyway, my friend almost wept when the teacher told her that. And she didn’t let it bog her down, but was very determined to prove her teacher wrong. So, after her high school, she applied for nursing school and was accepted, and knowing that, being accepted she was on her way to be a nurse that she has always wanted. So she made a copy of her acceptance letter and sent it to her teacher with a little note that, she was on her way.
Sooner than she could realize, she was done with her course, and received her diploma, sat for her states board, and one touch, she passed it. She was happy and again made copies of everything and wrote a note to her teacher saying “I loved you for haven’t being my teacher, and one thing I will ever let you know as a lesson is that, never in your life discourage any of your students like you did to me”. She ended my saying, I made it.
These stories so powerful and I didn’t even add mine. So please, our mouths can do others good and at the same time can damage them if much attention is not taken. So please encourage somebody today. It will be good if you do.
Have a Happy Sunday all you my beloved readers.
Ronnie.
