America’s Youth Unemployment Crisis in the Age of AI: Man vs. Machine, Our Loss

You know I’m off work when I’m posting frequently on my blog. Today, I want to talk about something I studied in economics years ago, youth and college graduate unemployment. These are critical to any nation’s economy. Young people are impulsive when spending; give them jobs that put money in their pockets and they will be out there stimulating the system with their spending habits. The same is almost true for graduates. They are a little bit wiser and smarter with their money, but they too are out to start life, and they will also be spending given their newly developed tastes in college. You get the picture.

But now, young people are getting desperate. Their jobs are being swallowed up by artificial intelligence. In America, kids born in this country are raised with a deep sense of pride, and many will never consider what society labels as “dirty jobs,” such as warehouse work, farming, meatpacking, sanitation management, or working as aides in healthcare. The result? Massive youth unemployment.

Now imagine, out of nowhere, or perhaps from somewhere since 2017, a figure like Nick Fuentes has risen to become a spokesperson for these frustrated young people called the Groypers. That is his little army of loyal followers. They are a real force, and to look down on them is a big mistake. That is not a development the corporatists or elites of any nation would want to encourage.

And yet, here we are, facing a sharp rise in youth unemployment that the government is doing little to address. That is troubling because these very young people are the ones who will be running this country in the not so distant future.

Just yesterday, I read that the University of Connecticut is permanently closing some seven programs, three majors, and reviewing seventy others. Their reason? Low enrollment. It is heartbreaking. The world has changed forever. Young people and recent college graduates are drowning in debt, and many still cannot find work. They look at this and are opting not to go to college altogether despite the promises of higher education. If they listen to someone like Mr. Fuentes, who dropped out of college and is now doing fine, they may think that is it for them. Big mistake, kids. And yes, I am not promoting college dropout or stupidity. I believe in education. I read, write, and file every day all because of the rare privilege life gave me, education. But seriously, where exactly are we headed?

I guess the crooked mainstream media will be happy to tell us not to worry. It is all fake news, and in the worst case scenario, Daddy Sam will pull out his checkbook and bail us all out.

When AI was rolled out, it was celebrated by the short-sighted among us. Less than three years later, the consequences are here to stay. And who is benefiting? The greedy corporate oligarchs. As we speak, profits are soaring on Wall Street, and they have never been richer.

Less is being spent on employees as many are being fired and AI adapted.

Meanwhile, for everyone else, it is hard luck.

This is why I believe our world needs more prayers than ever before. It is what gets me on my knees every single day.

Dear Lord, it is me again, your boy. Have mercy on us.

I remain your pal on the web,

~Ronnie~
